Keynote Speaker

James Cracknell OBE

James Cracknell OBE is a celebrated British sporting icon, double Olympic gold medallist, and adventurer who has pushed the limits of human endurance. Since retiring from competitive rowing, he has undertaken numerous gruelling expeditions, including rowing the Atlantic and racing to the South Pole, documenting his journeys in successful books and primetime BBC shows. His life took a dramatic turn in 2010 when he suffered a near-fatal brain injury after being hit by a truck while attempting to cross America. His remarkable and speedy recovery to complete another extreme endurance race is a testament to his incredible resilience. Beyond his adventures, James made history as the oldest-ever competitor to win the prestigious Boat Race for Cambridge University in 2019. He is also a dedicated charity advocate, particularly for brain injury awareness, a political activist for health and obesity, and was awarded an OBE for his services to sport.
